NORTHPORT Randall “Randy” W. Smith, age 49, of Northport, died Nov. 29, 2011, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be 11 a.m. today at Bethany Baptist Church with Bro. Ed. Steelman officiating. Burial will follow in Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery with Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. The body will lie in state one hour prior to services at the church. He was preceded in death by his sister, Vickie Smith; and his grandparents, Melvin and Elizabeth Smith and William and Martha Logan.Survivors include his son, Jason “Tyler” Smith; his sisters, Cathy Plowman (Steve) of Coker and Jayne McMichael of Northport; his parents, Wesley and Alice Smith of Northport; his nieces, Rene Plowman, Tanya Rowland, and Angela Galloway; one great-niece; and two great-nephews. Randy was a graduate of TCHS. He was loved by all and a friend to everyone. Randy loved Alabama football and NASCAR. Randy loved spending time with his family and was always a joker. We will love and miss you “fat boy”!Pallbearers will be Robert Roberts, Ricky Roberts, Leon Pearson, Joe Snow, Gary Logan, Brandon Rowland, and Daniel Galloway.Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Gross, Bro.
