Ruth Agnes WrightPassed away on October 22, 2013 at Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, with her loving son by her side. Ruth is survived by her son Hilary LaBrash, grandchildren Danielle, Miranda, Justin, and Adam, Lynn Richards (John Leong), sisters-in-law Shirley, Laurice, and Audrey, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Frank and Agnes Wright, partner H.A. (Tony) LaBrash, daughter-in-law Judy, nine siblings Tom, Janet, Josie, Lucy, Margaret, James, William, John, and Ralph. Ruth was born July 11, 1924 on the family farm at Rosthern, and received her early schooling in town from Grandmother Thomson. Ruth completed her B.A. from the University of Saskatchewan in 1947. She then went on to get her Masters in Social Work from UBC. Over the next thirty years, she worked as a social worker all over Western Canada. During this time, she spent many wonderful years with her nieces and nephews, a time she treasured her whole life. In 1966, her only son, Hilary, was born. Ruth soon after returned to the family farm, while living in Saskatoon and Warman. Ruth was a strong and caring person who will be lovingly remembered by all who knew her. She worked hard her entire life, but always made time for the family that was so important to her. Her last years at Luther Heights were spent amongst friends whose help and support she appreciated so much. After her diagnosis of Parkinson's in 2012, Ruth's health deteriorated and her family would like to thank the staff at Stensrud Lodge, Luther Heights, Parkridge, RUH, and City Hospital who did their very best to make her last year as comfortable as possible. A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 5, 2013, at Mayfair United Church 902-33rd Street W, Saskatoon.
