RUTH JULIA DOUGLAS FLEMING WOLCOTT - Ruth Julia Douglas Fleming, Sept. 1, 1938 - May 17, 2009. Our Mom has gone on to rejoice in her new heavenly home with her previously departed son, Brent Harlow, after 17 years of separation. She continues to be treasured here in her earthbound home by her copious family and friends. Nearest and dearest to our angel, Ruth's heart is her family; her husband of 37 years, Ray; her oldest daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Thad Shedd of Wolcott; daughter Deborah Harlow of Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Bobbi and Nathan Manning of Arizona; and daughter and son-in-law, Raeleen and Robert Bedard of Swanton. Also, Ruth is treasured by those lucky enough to call her Nana, her grandsons, Rusty Shedd and wife Rachael, Michael Shedd and fiance Holly Bennett, Joshua Harlow and wife Jana, Christopher Harlow, Adam Manning, Garrett Manning, Robbie Bedard and Lucas Bedard. Ruth also has her smallest followers, her great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Eli, Tamyka and Logan Shedd, and Nyna and Brayden Harlow; her mother Christina Douglas; her sisters, Barb Mayhew, Norma Sweeney, Janice Morrow, Tami Furry; and several other family members. She was predeceased by her father Louis Douglas; her brother Timothy Fleming; her son Brent Harlow; and a young man whom she thought of as a son, Donald Plante. In lieu of flowers please make contributions in memory of Ruth to the Wolcott Fire Department or the Lamoille Area Cancer Network. Services will be held on Wednesday, May 20, 2009, at 3 p.m. in the Wolcott United Methodist Church.
