JOHNSON, ROSA LEE May 16, 1925 - August 12, 2013Our precious and beloved mother, Rosa Lee Johnson, 88, went home to be with the Lord, peacefully at her home on August 12, 2013, surrounded by her family. Rosa Lee was born to Denver and Leoma Young in Plant City, Florida on May 16, 1925. She is predeceased by her husband, C.C. Johnson Jr. of 56 years, sister, Lucille Smith, sister, Everlenia Smith, brother, Charles Young, Sister, Stella Mae Young. Mrs. Johnson moved to Cross City, Florida in 1943 after marrying the love of her life. She was a devout Christian and a loving wife and mother. Her hobbies were sewing, cooking and gardening. Over the years, Mrs. Johnson worked at the Department of Children and Families as a child advocate, City Hall and Dixie District School System, teaching Upholstery Classes. Mr. & Mrs. Johnson owned and operated an Upholstery Shop in downtown Cross City for many years. She was a volunteer 4-H Leader and an active member of the Dixie County Chamber of Commerce until her health declined, resulting in her retirement. Mr. & Mrs. Johnson were lifelong members of the Baptist Purity Church in Cross City, Florida. Rosa Lee considered her family her most important vocation. She is survived by her six children; Gail (Hardy) Giddens of Davenport, Fl, Mickey (Mazell) Johnson of Cross City, Fl., Martha Ann (Mickey) Osteen of Old Town Fl., Sheba (Mike) Goodwin of Lake Hamilton, Fl., Jerome (Tammy) Johnson of Old Town, Fl., Rebecca (Dale) Canaday of Wildwood Fl., 13 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Her sister, Lorene Lawson, brother, Jake Young, brother, Pete Young and sister, Geneva Pitts. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 pm on Thursday, August 15th at Rick Gooding Funeral Home, Cross City, Florida with services Friday August 16, 2013 at 4:00 pm.
