CARTER, RONALD LEE, 42, beloved son, husband, father, brother, and friend, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 28, 2002. He passed away from melanoma brain cancer. Ron is survived by his parents, Jim and Jo Carter; his wife, Annisa; and his sons, Joshua, Jacob, and Jonathan all of Orlando; and his brother, David Carter, Nashville, TN. Ron was born on May 11, 1960, in Ft. Walton Beach, FL. He moved to Orlando in 1968 where he graduated from Oakridge High School in 1978. A National Merit Scholar, he accepted an appointmnent to the United States Military Academy at West Point, and graduated in 1982. He spent six years of active duty achieving the rank of captain. He then served in the Army Reserve and was promoted to major. Ron married Annisa Brookshier on November 19, 1988. They established their home in Orlando where Ron worked at OCPS, Universal Studios, and Siemen's Westinghouse. Ron spent his childhood at Pine Castle United Methodist Church. He and Annisa attended Conway United Methodist Church, First Baptist of Pine Castle, and were active members of Metro Life Church since 1995. Ron and Annisa home schooled their sons. Ron, a green belt in Tae Kwon Do, enthusiastically participated with his boys in this sport. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 31, at 10AM at Metro Life Church, 910 S. Winter Park Dr., Casselberry, FL, 407-740-0561. Interment will be at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell with full military honors.
