SEBRING, Fla. - Roger Ellis Miller died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012. He was born Sept. 2, 1920 in McAlpin, Fla., son of the late Roscoe Nigel and Lillian Jane Miller. The Millers moved to Sebring in 1921 and later to LaBelle, Fla. Roger graduated from LaBelle High School (1938) and University of Florida (1946) and was a true Gator fan. During W.W. II, he served in the U.S. Navy, leaving the service as Lt. CEC USNR. He enjoyed his many years as a Civil Engineer and surveyor. Past President of Rotary Club of Sebring, Paul Harris Fellow and a faithful member and Deacon of First Baptist Church, Sebring. He was preceded in death by his beloved first wife, Francis. He is survived by his devoted wife, Peggy; and his loving children, Roger Miller, Jr., Valerie (Dean) Johnson M.D., Christopher (Pat) Miller, Karen (Joseph) Berry; and brother, Nigel (Joan) Miller; and step-children, Karen (David) Curfman and Julia Modisett; and grandchildren, Miller Johnson, Bryan Johnson, Marianne Johnson, Christopher Miller, Jr., Joshua Miller, Summer Miller, Mark Purvis, Zachary Berry, Samantha Berry; and step-grandchildren, Christine Curfman, David Curfman, Jr., Carrie Curfman, Jackie Modisett and Taylor Modisett. Visitation will be held 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Morris Funeral Chapel with Services at 11 a.m. on Friday at First Baptist Church, Sebring. Burial at Pinecrest Cemetery with Military Honors.
