Robert Sanborn, né en 1923, fils de Arthur et Mabel, est décédé le 25 juillet 2011 à l'âge de 88 ans.
TILTON - Robert "Bob" Sanborn, 88, died July 25, 2011, at the New Hampshire Veterans Home after a long illness. He was born on Feb. 16, 1923, in Philadelphia, the son of Arthur and Mabel (Ringer) Sanborn. He joined the Army Air Force Infantry in 1943. He was an airplane sheet metal worker and fought under Gen. Patton. He received the Victory Medal and Good Conduct Medal. Bob was married to the late Dorothy May Sanborn. They settled in Epsom in 1969 and remained there for the next 30 years. He worked as a crane operator and retired in 1985. Bob had many hobbies. In his early years, he enjoyed talking with people all over the world on his ham radio, and he loved to set up model railroads. Through his deep love of the organ and piano, he taught himself how to play. Bob came to the New Hampshire Veterans Home in 1999 after his wife passed away. It did not take him long to make it his home and adopt the staff as his family. Almost every day during his 12 years there, he played favorite hymns on the piano. The staff will always remember him by the way he announced himself when he made his entrance by saying "Sanborn here." . SERVICES: Celebration of his life services with military honors will be held at the New Hampshire Veterans Cemetery Chapel in Boscawen Tuesday at 1 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to New Hampshire Veterans Home Resident Benefit Fund, 139 Winter St., Tilton 03276. Paquette-Neun Funeral Home (www.neunfuneralhomes.com) in Northfield is assisting with services.
