SHELBYVILLE - Hamilton, Robert Lee, 57, resident of Cape Coral, FL, died Thursday, May 26, 2011 from complications of cancer. Born November 3,1953 in Shelbyville to Lowell Hamilton and Thelma Hamilton. He is survived by his former wife and mother of his children, Judy Hamilton of Naples, FL; and his two daughters, Charity Elizabeth Hamilton, D.O. of New York and Hayley Meredith Hamilton of Washington, D.C. He is also survived by his mother, Thelma Hamilton; and sisters, Theresa Fogle and Shirley Wyatt of Kentucky; and brother, John Hamilton of Texas. He was predeceased by his father, Hud; and sister, Doris Snow. He earned his Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts in education at FGCU, Ft Myers, FL. A man of great faith despite many challenging circumstances, he found his calling as an educator. He was nominated for the Golden Apple Award several years running. A memorial will be held at Fuller Funeral Home, 3740 Del Prado Blvd S., Cape Coral, FL, on Saturday, May 28, 2011 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. A visitation will be held at Shannon Funeral Service, 1124 West Main St., Shelbyville, KY on Tuesday May 31, 2011 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m., with service to follow. Graveside burial will be in Grove Hill Cemetery, Shelbyville, KY. Bob Hamilton was an optimistic, sensitive and determined man and a wonderful Daddy. He will be greatly missed.
