Robert D. Williamsof GreeneRobert D. Williams, 73, passed away with his family by his side on Wednesday, September 14, 2005, at Wilson Memorial Hospital in Johnson City after a long illness. He was born October 23, 1931, son of the late, Frank D. and Beatrice M. Williams. He was also predeceased by his brothers, Curtis, Donald, Douglas; and his wife, Phyllis. He is survived by his wife, Dorla H. Williams; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Melissa Williams, Oxford; two daughters and sons-in-law, Roxanna and Richard Gould, Norwich, Louise and Earl Caldwell, Fla.; a son, Robert C. Williams and Peg, Oxford; stepchildren, Wood J. Markham, Greene, Terri Busch, Reid and Lynne Markham, all of Kentucky; 15 grandchildren, 10 step-grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Frank and Beverly Williams, Ernest and Patricia Williams, Gerald and Eleanor Williams, all of Oxford; five sisters and four brothers-in-law, Mary Ballard, Doris and Ernie Bush, Linda and John Covell, Marie and Gene Hamilton, Kathy and Daniel Frayer, all of Oxford; sister-in-law, Connie Hayes, Greene; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Frank and Erma Carlin; Aunt, Leona Whitaker; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Robert retired in 1995 from the Raymond Corp. in Greene with over 30 years of service working in many departments and management. He enjoyed spending time with his wife at their camp on the St. Lawrence. He was an avid sportsman.Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Saturday at Root Funeral Home, 23 North Chenango Street, Greene, N.Y. 13778. The Very Reverend Ralph E. Osborne, Rector of Zion Episcopal Church, Greene, officiating. Burial will be in Sylvan Lawn Cemetery, Greene. Friends of the family may call Friday, 7 to 9 p.m., at Root Funeral Home.
