PETERS, RAYMOND 'PETE', 75 of Leesburg, FL and West Chester, OH passed away peacefully, Saturday, June 22, 2002 at his Florida residence. He was able to spend his final days with his loving wife, Ann. He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was a WWII veteran serving in the 99th Infantry at the Battle of the Bulge, and The Ardennes. His unit was among the first over the Bridge at Ramagen. He was employed by the Ohio Knife Company in Cincinnati, Ohio for over 37 years. He also managed several Cincinnati area movie theatres for Holiday Amusement Company during the 60's & 70's, where he met his wife of 27 years Ann Louise (Nixon). He was an avid golfer, and had 2 Holes-in-One in his lifetime. He was a member of Otter Creek at The Plantation and Beckett Ridge Country Club in West Chester, OH. On his 75th birthday his wife's family surprised him at Vic's Embers with his high school diploma from Lakota School District (West Chester, OH.) under the State of Ohio's Program to honor WWII veterans. His family has established 'Pete's List', a scholarship program in his honor for local high school seniors excelling in History and Government. Survivors: wife, Ann Peters, West Chester, OH; brother, Jack Peters of Kissimmee, FL and many life long friends from Cincinnati and other friends and relatives. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to the Peters Family Fund, c/o The Community Foundation of West Chester/Liberty, P.O. Box 1774, West Chester, OH 45071-1774 or Hospice of Lake & Sumter, 12300 Lane Park Road, Tavares, FL 32778. Private services with be held at the convenience of the family with no visitation.
