PORT ST. LUCIE, Florida — Priscilla Lapierre Martin, 63, of Port St. Lucie,Florida, passed away at her residence on Feb. 12, 2008, following a courageous 2 ½ year battle with cancer.She had been a resident of the Treasure Coast since 1993. Previous to moving to the Treasure Coast, she enjoyed life with her family in Venice, Fla. and Franconia and Wolfboro, N.H.She was a graduate of St. Mary's College in Lewiston, Me., where she received her degree in nursing. Priscilla's career continued for 41 years in nursing, specializing in elderly care. She was the director of nursing at Water's Edge in Sandhill Cove in Palm City since 1993. She was also active with the Corporate Resource Team of Life Care Services of Des Moines, Iowa.Priscilla had many interests and hobbies in life, some of which included reading, golf, cooking, traveling, tennis, and bike riding. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her granddaughters, Cali and Cadence.She was a member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Port St. Lucie and was a very devout Catholic.She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Dennis Martin, of Port St. Lucie; sons, David Martin (Corinne), of Charlotte, N.C., and Dan Martin, of Jacksonville, Fla.; daughter, Monica Campbell (Chris), of Daytona Beach, Fla.; grandchildren, Cali and Cadence; sister, Constance Mathieu (Ronald), of Sanford, Me.; and brothers, Ronald Lapierre, of Rochester, N.H., and Robert Lapierre, of Sanford, Me.A gathering was held at Forest Hills Funeral Home in Palm City.Memorial contributions may be made to Treasure Coast Hospices, 1201 SE Indian St., Stuart, Fla. 34997, in Priscilla's memory.A guest registry may be signed on www.foresthillsfunerals.com.>
