Avis de décès de Phyllis-Mary Cleary

Phyllis Mary Mamie Age 88, formerly of Mt. Zoar Street, Elmira, died Friday, May 17, 2002 at St. Joseph's Hospital. Mamie was born September 12, 1913, daughter of Daniel and Maria Saveria Carrozza Emanuel. She is predeceased by her husband of fifty-eight years, James J. Cleary, Sr.; son, Michael P. Cleary; grandson, Francis Boomer Cleary; brothers, William Manuel, John Emanuel, Thomas Emanuel, Louis Emanuel and Daniel Manuel; sisters Margaret Cavaluzzi, Josephine Chalk and Antoinette Aloi. Mamie is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, James and Lois Cleary, Francis and Lois Ann Cleary; son Charles Pudgie Cleary; daughters, Mary Poteat and Bernadette Tarntino; daughters-in-law, Diana Cleary and Rosa Cleary, all of Elmira; twenty-eight grandchildren; fifty-one great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Lena and John Limoncelli; sisters-in-law, Kate Cleary and Noreen Emanuel; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Friends and relatives are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, corner of Walnut and Water Sts., on Sunday, May 19, 2002 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A Prayer Service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, May 20, 2002, at 10:15 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM at St. Mary's Church, Elmira. Interment will follow at St. Peter & Paul's Cemetery. Mamie was a former employee of Moretti's Restaurant. She was the mother of the founder of Pudgie's Pizza and Subs; where she was a Vice-President until her retirement. Mamie was a great family lady...a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. On any given Sunday, it was not unusual for her to have at least fifty family members over to her house for dinner. If any of her family had the misfortune of missing these dinners...they were in trouble!! In her lifetime, Mamie rolled thousands of meatballs and made dozens of afghans for family and friends...she will live in their hearts forever. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mamie's memory may be directed to St. Joseph's Hospital Skilled Nursing Unit, 555 E. Market St., Elmira, NY 14901.
