FISHER, Phyllis Diane (nee Bower) Phyl passed away on December 25, 2009 at Evergreen House in North Vancouver after a long struggle with lung disease. She was born April 30, 1920 in North Vancouver and spent most of her life there. Phyl was a very gracious lady who enjoyed handicrafts, animals and family gatherings and was a long-time member of Burrard Chapter No. 3 of Eastern Star. Phyl was predeceased by her husband Jack Fisher and brothers Dennis and Stan Bower. She is survived by her loving family, son Don McKelvay (Kathy) of London, Ontario, grandson Stephen McKelvay (Jaquelyn), granddaughter Susan Monteith (Gregg), great-grandchildren Jennifer and Carter McKelvay and Lorien and Cirdan Monteith, brother Ralph Bower (Joan), sister-in-law Norma Bower, nieces Denise Davidson (Billyjoe) and Kelly Sinclair (Brian), nephews Doug Bower (Jill), Leonard Frazer (Debbie) and Rolf Frazer, great-nephews Taylor and Brandon Sinclair, Cameron and Austin Bower, great-niece Laura Bower and cousin Les Smith. Many thanks to the wonderful caring staff of Evergreen House. A celebration of Phyl's life will be held in the spring.
