Phyllis Bradley Smith Phyllis Bradley Smith, age 91, of Penn Yan, N.Y., passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. Friends and family may call from 3 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at Townsend-Wood Funeral Chapel, 201 East Elm St., Penn Yan. Her funeral service will be held at Penn Yan United Methodist Church at 11 a.m. on Thursday, November 12, 2009 with Rev. K. Wayne Butler officiating. Interment will be at Lakeview Cemetery in Penn Yan. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to Penn Yan Public Library, 214 Main St., Penn Yan, NY 14527; Ontario-Yates Hospice, 756 Pre-Emption Rd., Geneva, NY 14456; or to Penn Yan United Methodist Church, PO Box 242, Penn Yan, NY 14527. Phyllis was born in Ulster, Pa., on March 16, 1918, the daughter of the late Oscar and Edna Farrell Bradley. She was a graduate of Mansfield State College and taught in Pennsylvania, Branchport and in Penn Yan for sixteen years. She was a long-time member of Penn Yan Methodist Church and was active in community organizations. She was predeceased by her husband of fifty-eight years, Gilbert Crawford Smith, on December 30, 1997. Phyllis is survived by her daughters, Beverly A. (Lee J.) Cook of Penn Yan, Sandra J. (William S.) Kelly of Naples, and Kay S. (Keith E.) Additon of Cooperstown; grandchildren, Jason Cook, Jeremy (Elizabeth) Cook, Julie (Sean) Secord, Jonathan (Kacie) Cook, Susan (Michael) Nelson, David Kelly, Cheryl (John) Erhardt, Rebecca (Anthony) Veltri, and Emily Additon; great-grandchildren, Emily, Anna, and Eliza Cook, Ryan Secord, Patrick, Shane, Sidney, and Kelly Nelson, and Landon Collins.
