Phyllis Benedict Lee of Hackettstown, N.J., formerly of Mountain Lakes, N.J., passed away on Wednesday, July 3, 2013. She was 97 years old. Mrs. Lee was born in Waterbury, Conn., and lived there through her graduation from Northfield Seminary and The Hartford Art School. She moved to New York City while attending The New York School of Applied Design for Women. After her marriage in 1942, she lived in Mountain Lakes and Sarasota, Fla., before returning to New Jersey to live in Hackettstown in 2003. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Harry Vernon Lee Jr. Surviving are her devoted son, Harry Vernon Lee III, and daughter-in-law, Judith M. Lee; also, several nieces and nephews.
