Phyllis Ann Henry went to be with her Savior on Monday evening July 31, 2006.Mrs. Henry was born in Alapaha, Ga., on Sept. 3, 1930, to Clarence and Katherine McMillan. She married and moved to Sarasota in 1952 where she raised her two children, Elizabeth and John.From Sarasota, Phyllis Ann moved to Galway, N.Y., for 14 years and in 1994 moved to St. Augustine to be close to her sisters. She met and married Grady W. Henry, Esq., on Dec. 14, 2002.Phyllis Ann enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and walking on the beach. She will be lovingly remembered as a bubbly woman who never met a stranger, truly a friend to many. Mrs. Henry was also a doting grandmother who treasured the time she shared with her family.She is survived by her husband Grady W. Henry; daughter, Deri Elizabeth Ledbetter of Galveston, Texas; son, John Dennis Ledbetter III, of Sarasota; step-daughters, Mary Stanfield and Carol Arnold; sister, Allie Wiseman of St. Augustine, Jean Thompson of Canton, Ga.; brother Malcolm McMillan of Waycross, Ga.; five grandchildren, Michael J. Keane, Jessica A. Nethery, Joy M. Ledbetter, Alexander N. Ledbetter and Lukas M. Ledbetter. Mrs. Henry is preceded in death by her sisters, Mary, Katherine and Martha; brothers, Clarence and James.Visitation will be held at 10-11 a.m., Thursday followed by Funeral Services at 11 a.m., at First Methodist Church, 118 King Street, St. Augustine, with The Rev. Pat Turner-Sharpton, officiating.Flowers are gratefully declined.
