Philip J. Mahoney HAMILTON TOWNSHIP - Philip J. Mahoney, 78, passed away Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013, at Capital Health Medical Center in Hopewell Township, surrounded by his family. Born in Trenton, he was a resident of Hamilton Township all of his life. He was an Army veteran and retired from U.S. Steel in Fairless, PA,, after 35 years. He also owned and operated Phil's Pool Service for many years. Phil enjoyed playing the guitar, woodworking, antique cars, trips to Parx and Atlantic City, but most of all loved spending time with family and grandchildren. Predeceased by four brothers, Don, Frank, Bobby and John Mahoney, and two sisters, Peg Dobo and Bette Estabrooke, he is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Eleanor Mahoney (nee Suleskey); three daughters and sons-in-law, Erin and Jeff Hill, Patti and Brian Dalton, and Jessica and Mark Gavrish; his son, Michael Budd and his wife, Lori; two brothers and two sisters, Loretta Czako and her husband, Joe, Bill Mahoney and his wife, Lois, Helen Elgrim and her husband, Ken, and Tom Mahoney; eight grandchildren, Melissa, Brooke, Megan, Brianna, Jeffrey, Justin, Mallory and Markie two great-grandchildren, Jackson and Jocelyn, and lastly, Haley and Swartz, the family dog and cat. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11, at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 555 Yardville-Allentown Rd., Yardville, NJ. Interment will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Allentown. Family and friends may call Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and again on Wednesday morning from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the Peppler Funeral Home, 114 S. Main St, Allentown. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mercer County Wildlife Center, 1748 River Rd., Titusville, NJ 08560 or to the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
