Philip Franklin Davis     PORTLAND - Philip Franklin Davis passed away in his sleep, March 7, 2006 at a local Healthcare facility.     Phil was born April 12, 1949 in Gray to Jerald and Alva Davis. Phil attended loca1schools in Gray and graduated from Gray New Gloucester High School in 1968.     During his time in Gray, Phil was volunteer fireman for eight years.     After graduation Phil began, his working at Humphrey's Egg Farm where he stayed for six years. Next was L. C. Andrews Lumber Yard.     Phil then changed his career path to the Restaurant business. For the next 13 years Phil progressed from dishwasher, to the cook, to assistant manager at The Bag restaurant; a popular eatery in downtown Portland.     After the closure of The Bag, Phil took his third and final trip to Florida. A well deserved two week vacation that Phil extended for two years! Clear Water Florida and Sea World were his favorite destinations.     Upon his return to Maine, Phil joined the workforce of Labor Ready. During this time he worked crews that revitalized commercial development in Portland with construction projects from banks on Congress Street to restaurants in the Old Port.     Phil rejoined the food industry six years ago at Seaside Healthcare. For the past six years Phil maintained perfect attendance and work ethic that was often described during employee orientations.     When a medical setback prevented Phil from working, Seaside honored Phil's loyalty and dedication with a special achievement award given in front of 100+ teary-eyed staff, residents, families, and owners.,     Phi1 leaves his brother, Jerald Davis and his wife Annie of Gray who brought great comfort and joy to Phil upon his early retirement; their, five children, Jera1d L., Christian M., Joseph S., Benjamin A. Davis and Dennis Christian; a sister, Sheila (Davis)-Higgins and her children Gabriel and Julianna of Gray; and step-mom, Helen E.
