Peggy Jane Smith age 74, passed away at her home in Tucumcari, NM on Friday September 25, 2009, following an extended illness. She was born July 8, 1935, in Clovis, NM. She had been a beautician. She had been an active member of the Temple Baptist Church in Tucumcari, NM. She had gone to Corpus Cristi, TX and worked at the Roloff Evangelistic Enterprises for 8 years, working in the cafeteria, the girls dorm and was in charge of the Olders Girls Dorm. She had gone to Culloden, GA to assist in helping the Christian Deaf School and Home started. She was active in the Christian Prison Outreach Program for over 15 years. Surviving her are two daughters, Telisa A. Gray of Tucumcari, NM and Stacee Mias of California. Her sister Gayle Elliott McSpaden of Meeker, OK 9 grandchildren: Telisa R. Lujan, Joshua Hicke, Matthew Gray, Jacob Gray, Leslie Rittinghouse, Laura Hardin, Charity Hardin, Suzanna Hardin, and Michael Stanton. 11 Great Grandchildren and other relatives including her nephew Curtis E. (Chip) Brown. She is preceded in death by her son Curtis Hardin, a great grandson Nicholas Quintana, her mother Pauline Paschael, her husbands Tommy Passmore and H. A. (Snook) Smith. A memorial service has been scheduled for Tuesday, September 29, 2009, beginning at 2:00PM at the Temple Baptist Church in Tucumcari, NM. Following her wishes, cremation has taken place.
