WHITE, Pearl Eileen Born on August 11, 1917 in Victoria. Died peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on November 22nd, 2007 at age 90. Predeceased by her husband, Frank, who she was married to for 56 years. Mother to Dolores and Frank (Heather); Nana to Scott, Jason, Michelle and Ryan; Great Grandmother to Tyler, Emily and Montana. Mom grew up on a farm in Gordon Head. As a teenager, the pilots at the Gordon Head Airport would take mom barnstorming in their open cockpit bi-planes. Mom was one of five in the first graduation class at Mt. Doug High School. When Mom and Dad got married, their honeymoon was a cruise to New Zealand, where they spent the first year of their marriage. Family holidays were spent camping at Parksville and later at their cabin on Cowichan Lake. Mom and Dad enjoyed tropical destinations for winter holidays. Mom partnered with Dad in White's diving until she was 72. In retirement she loved her garden and also volunteered at Government House. Mom always enjoyed the family close at hand and enjoyed seeing all her friends recently at her 90th birthday. Mom was an extra special person who was loved by everyone who knew her and will be greatly missed. We would like to express heartfelt thanks to the Palliative Care Unit, Dr. Gillian Rosenthal and special thanks to Caregivers, Julia and Elsa and Nurse Rebecca.
