Pauline J. Nadeauof Lyman, Maine; 67 LYMAN, MAINE -- Pauline J. Nadeau, 67, of Lyman, died at the Maine Medical Center in Portland on December 9, 2010.She was born in Springfield, Vermont on January 4, 1943 the daughter of Joseph R. and Marie L. (Blais) Jalbert and soon moved with her family to Biddeford, Maine. Pauline was a graduate of St. Mary's Nursing School, in Lewiston, and worked for many years providing care and comfort to her patients.While out dancing with some friends, she met her future husband, Roland Nadeau who asked her for a dance and she politely said, "No." From that night forward, Roland was smitten and they married in 1963. Together, they would become parents to four children and remained united as a couple through thick and thin. Pauline was very protective of her family and her children knew they were loved. Many of her cherished memories came from taking trips together as a family.Over 20 years ago, she and her husband moved to Maine. They owned and operated the Goodwin Mills General Store for 10 years. With Pauline's fun loving nature and generous ways, she looked forward to the regulars and would share in a good joke or story. Pauline served on the Board of Selectman for the Town of Lyman and worked tirelessly in fund raising for the Community Library.Pauline loved to have a good time and she was a friend to many. With her maternal instincts, she cared and gave of her self unconditionally. She will be dearly missed by her family and many friends.She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Roland Nadeau of Lyman; her daughter, Marie A. Nadeau of Lyman and by her son, Roland Nadeau, Jr. and wife Sandra of Massachusetts; her six grandchildren, Nicholas, Donald, Christopher, Daniela, Michaela and Zander; her daughter-in-law, Angela Nadeau-Mason of Virginia; and two sisters, Denise Cadorette of Maine and Jeanine Johnson of Florida and many nieces and nephews.She was predeceased by her daughter, Michelle Nadeau in 1966; her son, Michael D. Nadeau in 2009 and by her siblings, Lydia Ploude, Huguette Cote, Yolande Berger and Paul Jalbert.NADEAU -- Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday, Dec. 16th from 1- 3 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the Autumn Green Funeral Home, 47 Oak Street in Alfred. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, December 17, 2010 at 12 p.m. at St. Philip Church of the Good Shepherd Parish, 404 Goodwin Mills Road in Lyman.
