KENNEDY, Paula Paula was born on September 13, 1950, and passed away peacefully on June 20, 2008. Paula is lovingly remembered by her husband, Steve, with whom she had just celebrated their fourteenth wedding anniversary, and by the rest of her family, with whom she was "related by chance, but friends by choice". Paula was treasured daughter to Dorothy Smith and Charles G. Smith, Q.C.; unbelievable mother to her pride and joy, Carly Shuler and her husband Shane Kozlowich; and much-loved sister of Thomas Smith and Cheryl Sorokin. It would be remiss not to include Paula's "other daughter", her nine year-old dog, Kia, who never left her side. Paula is also survived by her nieces and nephews, Rachael, Joel and Sarah Smith, her stepchildren, Sarah Kennedy and Matt Kennedy, and was a proud Baba to ten-month old Samantha. Paula also touched the hearts of countless friends who were very special to her. Paula was a twenty-five year cancer survivor. We would like to thank the many doctors and nurses that helped Paula live extraordinarily and die peacefully. Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, June 25, 2008 at 12:00 p.m. at Temple B'nai Tikvah Synagogue, 900 - 47 Avenue S.W., Calgary. Burial to follow at the Canmore Cemetery.
