Paul M. LaVallee 1938-2013 HAMPDEN - Paul M. LaVallee, 74, entered into eternal rest on Monday February 18, 2013. Born in Springfield on March 4, 1938, he was the son of the late Joseph and Cecile (Giroux) LaVallee. Paul graduated from Cathedral High School in 1956. A licensed plumber, he worked both as an independent and as an employee of a number of local businesses throughout the years, most recently at Providence Hospital and Western Mass Hospital. Filled with boundless energy, Paul was a skilled handyman who built two houses and renovated numerous others in his spare time. He enjoyed hunting in Vermont, golf, trips to Cape Cod, horseshoes, playing cards, smoking a cigar on a warm summer day under a tree in the front yard while listening to the radio, and cruises to the Caribbean, but will be most remembered as a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather. Paul leaves behind his wife Eleanor (Dodge) LaVallee of Hampden; a son Paul "Steve" LaVallee and his wife Robin of Ware; a step-son Greg Lafrance of CA, a step-daughter Julie Craft of TX, four brothers Roger LaVallee, Robert LaVallee, Ronald LaVallee and Richard LaVallee, all of CT; two sisters Denise Smith of West Springfield and Linda Lukas of CT; and nine grandchildren Gina, Jennie and Julie LaVallee, Alexander Lafrance, Arthur and Matthew Lafrance, and Ryan, Erin and Samuel Craft. Paul was predeceased by his sister, Cynthia Pratt. Calling hours will be held on Saturday February 23rd from 9:30 to 11:00 AM followed by a funeral home service at 11:00 AM at Forastiere-Smith Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., East Longmeadow. Rites of Committal will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery, Calendar Ave. in East Longmeadow. In memory of Paul, donations may be made to the Thomas J.
