LACHANCE, Paul Antoine "Fiddler" 99 years, peacefully, on November 19, 2007. Lifelong resident of Tecumseh (Sandwich South). Longtime friend of Cecile Groulx and survived by nieces and nephews. Dear son of the late Joseph (1955) and Rose (1965) (nee Janisse). Dear brother of the late Albemie (1902); Alfred (1993); Laurent(1991); Louis (1987); Ovila (1957); Helene (1900); Marguerite Poisson (1994); and MarieAnne Bracken (1997). Also predeceased by one niece, Pat Jobin (2000) and will be missed by numerous nieces and nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews. Paul enjoyed life and loved to entertain with his gift of playing the violin in nursing homes, at weddings and parties. He also loved playing cards and was a parishioner of Ste. Anne's all his life. He will also be missed by friends and staff of the Village Kitchen and Whistling Kettle Restaurants. Paul has played music on radio and tv and has won trophies at contests across Ontario. He was a proud farmer and along with his brothers, was a co-proprietor of Pal-Co Tomatoes. Visiting Wednesday, from 2:30 to 9:00 p.m. at The Marcotte Funeral Home and Chapel , 12105 Tecumseh Road, Tecumseh (519-735-2830). Prayers Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. Visiting resumes after 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 22, 2007 at St. Anne Church until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Fr. Robert Couture will be the celebrant. Interment at St. Anne Cemetery. As your expression of sympathy, a donation to the Ste. Anne Church Restoration Fund or to the charity of your choice would be appreciated. A tree will be planted in memory of Paul in the Marcotte Heritage Forest.
