Paul Allen McDonald, 89, Denison, Texas, passed away Monday, June 18, 2007. He was born to the late Roy Blaine and Cliff Edmonson McDonald on April 3, 1918, in Aldrich, Mo. He graduated from Walnut Grove High School and from Southeastern Oklahoma State University. He married Mae Harbin who preceded him in death in 1970. He later married Verna McClure who passed away in 2001. Mr. McDonald is survived by step-son Macky McClure and wife, Carol of Denison, Texas; step-daughters, Kathy Sturch and husband, Ernest of Durant, Okla., and Marilyn Simmons; brothers, Jack McDonald and wife, Helen of Aransas Pass, Texas, Denzil McDonald and wife, Joann of Walnut Grove, Mo.; sister June Hendrix of Springfield, Mo.; grandchildren, Sean Allen McDonald and wife, Michelle, Jim McClure and wife, Rhonda, Nat McClure and wife, Kathleen, Nick McClure and wife, Coree, Chris Sturch and wife, Rhonda, Jerry Sturch and wife, Cari, David Sturch and wife, Katy, David Dixon and granddaughter, Jennifer Stinson; 23 great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law Juanita McDonald of Portland, Ore. Mr. McDonald was a teacher, coach and principal. He taught school and was a principal for 17 years in Valiant, Okla., two years at Bennington, Okla. High School as principal and 11 years as a teacher at Hyde Park Elemendary School in Denison, Texas. He served three years in the Army in Field Artillery in the European Theater. Mr. McDonald was a longtime member of Central Church of Christ. Funeral services are 2 p.m. today, June 22, in Central Church of Christ, Denison, Texas, with Brother Everett Hodges officiating. Burial will follow in Hiland Cemetery, Durant, Texas. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service in the church. Services are under the direction of Johnson-Moore Funeral Home.
