LATHAM Sister Patrick Therese Lee, CSJ, the former Rita Mary Lee, 89, died Sunday, October 16, 2005, at St. Joseph's Provincial House in Latham. Sister Patrick had been a Sister of St. Joseph of Carondelet for 70 years. Sister Patrick was born May 8, 1916 in Syracuse, N.Y., the daughter of the late Edward and Josie Moore Lee. She graduated from St. Patrick's Grade School and St. Lucy's High School, both in Syracuse, and entered the novitiate of the Sisters of St. Joseph in 1935. She received a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in education from The College of Saint Rose, Albany, and taught in schools in the Syracuse and Albany Dioceses for nearly 50 years. Upon retiring from teaching, Sister Patrick served as a tutor and a minister to the elderly in Our Lady of Solace School and Parish, Syracuse, where she served for 31 years. She retired to St. Joseph's Provincial House, Latham, in 2001, where she continued to bring her spirit of joy, gentleness and dedication to all whom she met. Sister Patrick leaves several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends and the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet. She was predeceased by her dear sisters, Anne Marie and Therese, and by many members of her beloved Sisters of St. Joseph. Sister Patrick Therese's funeral Liturgy will be held Wednesday, October 19 at 10:30 a.m. from the chapel of St. Joseph's Provincial House, Latham. Interment will be in Our Lady Queen of Virgins Cemetery on the Provincial House grounds. Calling hours will be held at the Provincial House Tuesday, October 18 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Contributions in Sister Patrick's memory may be made to the Development Office of the Sisters of St. Joseph, 385 Watervliet-Shaker Road, Latham, NY 12110.
