Patrick J. Brennan, 65, a resident of Easton for the past 18 years, died unexpectedly Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014, at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. He was the husband of Paula (Maneikis) Brennan for 25 years. Born in Southington, Conn., Nov. 29, 1948, a son of the late Jack and Muriel (Cooper) Brennan, he was raised in Meriden, Conn., and was a graduate of Cheshire Academy. He continued his undergraduate and graduate studies at Springfield College earning a masters degree in Education. Patrick was employed for over 30 years as a guidance counselor at Brockton High School. He was the former head coach of the Brockton High School Girls Basketball Team coaching them to the 2001 Championship and also served as head coach of the Brockton High School Girls Cross Country and the assistant coach of the Brockton High School Track team. After his retirement from Brockton High School, Patrick became the assistant coach of the Stonehill College Womens Basketball team and was currently serving as the assistant varsity coach of the Oliver Ames Boys Basketball team. He loved coaching his own childrens travel and AAU Basketball teams as well as Easton Little League Baseball when they were younger. Patrick was recently appointed to the 150 Club of the Easton YMCA. He was a member of both the National Education Association and the Massachusetts Teachers Association. In addition to his wife Paula, he is survived by six children, Michael Brennan of Easton, Allison Brennan of Easton, Kathryn Brennan of Easton, Sean Brennan of Easton, P.J. Brennan and his wife Jennifer of Newport Beach, Calif., and Terry Brennan of Sleepy Hollow, N.Y.; a sister, Jackie Dwyer and her husband Mike of Conn.; his mother-in-law, Bertha Maneikis of Easton; three grandchildren, Jackson, Mason and Kelsey of Calif.; and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a funeral Mass Monday at 11 a.m. in the Holy Cross Church, 225 Purchase Street, Easton. A celebration of Patricks life which all are welcomed to attend will follow at 12:15 p.m. at the Easton Country Club, 265 Purchase Street, Easton. In lieu of flowers, donations in Patricks memory may be made to the Brennan Kids College Fund, c/o Fidelity Investment U Fund Brennan Family, 25 Ridgewood Road, Easton, MA 02375.
