BEGIN Patrick A. Begin, age 89, of Bridgeport, beloved husband of Fernande Poulin Begin, died Monday, February 7, 2005 at Bridgeport Hospital. Mr. Begin was born in Canada, one of 18 children to the late Joseph and Mary Cote Begin and had been an area resident since 1957. A master cabinet and furniture maker by trade, he was retired from the Newtown School System as a custodian. After his retirement he and his wife enjoyed summers in Maine and winters in Florida, where he became a member of the Sons-of-Beaches Softball League. Mr. Begin was an avid fisherman and loved playing his violin. In addition to his beloved wife of 68 years, he is survived by three sons, Gerald Begin and wife, Kathleen, of Middlefield, Norman Begin and wife, Deena, of Trumbull and Robert Begin and wife, Bernice, of Bridgeport; two daughters, Lorraine LeRoy of Oakville and Rejeanne Caggiano and husband, James, of Trumbull; brother and sisters, Samuel, Elizabeth, Adrienne, Therese and Rolande, all of Maine; 11 grandchildren, Brian, Timothy, Barbara, Brenda, Laura, Jay, Christopher, Anne, Timothy, Mathieu and Michael; nine great-grandchildren and a multitude of nieces and nephews. Mr. Begin was predeceased by a grandson, Jonathan and a son-in-law, Arlen LeRoy. Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 10, 2005 at 11 a.m. in Christ the King Church, Trumbull, with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday, after 9 a.m. at the Redgate-Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull.
