WILSON, Pat (nee Purvis) BA, BPhysEd Patricia Ruth Wilson died quietly on the 30th day of April, 2011. She was born on the 2nd of February, 1929, in Ottawa, of Dr. Leonard Purvis and Nellie Milspaugh. She is survived by her husband, Cdr W Bruce Wilson, RCN (Ret'd), her son, Grant (Tracey) and grandchildren Eric, Louis and Taylor, her son, Mark (Mark Anderson), and her daughter, Anne (Michael Bouchard) and granddaughters, Jade and Isabella. Pat grew up in Westboro (Ottawa) and attended Nepean High School where she served as Head Girl. She may be known by many for her work at the summer camp 'Davern'. She attended Queen's University, majoring in physical education, where she served as President of Lavana. She went to the Ontario College of Education in Toronto for her teacher's training. She subsequently taught for three years at Nepean High School. She 'joined the Navy' when she married Bruce Wilson and spent a lifetime in union with him. She devoted herself to health and fitness, first in aquatics activities (especially in Victoria and Washington) and later in Ottawa at Carleton University where she conducted fitness classes that emphasized exercise, diet and lifestyle for better health. A service of Remembrance will be held at Riverside United Church, 3191 Riverside Drive, Ottawa at 1300 hours on the 14th of May, followed by a reception in the Church Hall. Pat was especially grateful for the many, many friends that she has met, worked with and played with in her life.
