FLEMING Patricia Ruth, 65, of Lake Ariel, Pennsylvania, passed away on March 10, 2013 in New York City following an illness. Her loving husband of 42 years is James Thomas Fleming. Patricia was born to the late Dorothy and Daniel Benson on July 6, 1947 in Rego Park, New York. She graduated from Dominican Commercial High School in 1965 and went on to Hunter College, where she earned a Bachelor of Art degree in 1969 and a Master of Science in Education in 1970. She was a Speech Pathologist for the New York City Board of Education and was passionate about making a difference in the lives of her students. Patricia raised her family in Ridgewood, New Jersey and was a resident there for 35 years. She then retired to The Hideout in Lake Ariel, Pennsylvania where she had been a part-time resident for 40 years. In the Hideout, she was instrumental in reviving the Swim Team and she was President of the Women's Golf Association. Once retired, she traveled the world with her husband, visiting numerous places in Mexico, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa, and Australia. She was also an avid home cook and loved to frequently entertain family and friends. Patricia is also survived by her children: James Daniel Fleming, of New York City, and Erin Mary Israel, of Richmond, Virginia. She is also survived by her grandson Sean Michael Israel. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Thursday, March 14 at James Wilson Funeral Home in 143 Gravity Rd. Lake Ariel, Pennsylvania. On Friday, March 15, a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9:30 AM at St. Thomas More Roman Catholic Church 105 Gravity Rd. Lake Ariel. Anyone attending the Mass is asked to go directly to the Church. Cremation will follow the Mass in the Lake Region Crematory at the James Wilson Funeral Home, Lake Ariel.
