May 29, 2012 Patricia "Patty" M. Smith, 60, of Manlius, passed away on Tuesday, surrounded by her loving family and friends. Born in Buffalo, she graduated from Sisters School of Nursing. She was employed for the last 35 years at Blue Cross Blue Shield as a medical review auditor. She volunteered at Vera House and was a member of various art guilds of CNY; she specialized in theorem painting. Patty had many interests: gardening, cooking, sewing, home improvement and decorating; her greatest love was for her family and friends. She will be best remembered as a strong, always smiling, generous, fun- loving person whose faith in God was very important to her. She was predeceased by her father, Thomas J. Mecca, and a nephew, Stephen John Jachimiak. Survivors: her two children, Lauren Ashley and Christian Ryan Smith; her husband, Michael Liepke; two sisters, Catherine (Dennis) Jachimiak and Michele (Elias) Eldayrie; a brother, Michael (Laurel) Mecca; her mother, Eileen Mecca; four nieces, Toni, Alexis, Erica and Phoebe; two nephews, George and Evan; many cousins; several aunts and uncles; and her faithful four-legged companion, Kodi. Services: Family and friends may call from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Newell-Fay Manlius Chapel, 8171 Cazenovia Rd., Manlius NY 13104, with a service to follow at 3:30 p.m. Burial will be private.
