CORTLAND, N.Y. -- Patricia B. Johnson, 99, died on Thursday, March 29, 2007, at the Cortland Care Center, where she had received loving care since November 2000.She was born Nov. 5, 1907, in Alexandria, La., the daughter of Edwin J. Bartel and Grace Darlow Bartel.In 1929, she graduated magna cum laude from Washburn University in Topeka, Kan. After graduation, she worked in New York City as an advertising copywriter.She married Norris O. Johnson, who predeceased her in 1983, in New York City in 1935. They made their home in White Plains, N.Y., and Halifax, Vt., for many years until 1981, when they moved to Heritage Village in Southbury, Conn.She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Eric N (Cathy L.) Johnson of Truxton, N.Y.; a daughter, Diana Lanzendorf of Vero Beach, Fla.; five grandchildren, Chrystal L. Johnson of Oneida, N.Y., Amanda M. Johnson of Wilkes-Barre, Pa., Diana Burklew of Grant, Fla., Melissa (Clifford) Hoegler of Delta, B.C., and Eric C.N. Johnson (Melissa) of Tampa, Fla.; four great-grandchildren and close family friends, Susan Clearwater of New York City and Dorothy Christie of West Halifax.A private service will be held in Halifax at the convenience of the family.u
