Patricia E. Morris 1932- 2013 SPRINGFIELD - Patricia E. "Pat" Morris, 81, of the Hungry Hill section of Springfield and a former longtime resident of Chapin Terrace in Springfield, was Called Safely Home on Sunday, March 10, 2013. She passed into Eternal Life at the home of her sister, Mary Lou, in Huntington, Long Island, New York surrounded by all of the memories she loved and cherished. She was born in Springfield on January 27, 1932, a beloved daughter of the late William H. and Agnes Mary (Kennedy) Morris. She was raised in Springfield, graduated from Cathedral High School and was a lifelong resident of the city. She furthered her education and received an Associate's Degree in Science from Bay Path Junior College in Longmeadow. She was employed for over 22 years at MassMutual Life Insurance Company in Springfield before retiring in 1995. She was a communicant of the former Our Lady of Hope Church in Springfield. Pat was a longtime member of the John Boyle O'Reilly Club in Springfield and the Ancient Order of Hibernians. She leaves her loving sister, Mary Lou Paxton, of Huntington, LI, NY, her cherished nephew and niece, Christopher A. Paxton and his wife, Lisa, of Wantagh, LI, NY and Amy Paxton and her fiance, Tewalmir Aviles, of Huntington, LI, NY; and many dear cousins and friends. Her funeral will be held on Friday morning, April 5, 2013, beginning at the St. Pierre - Phaneuf Springfield Chapels, (413-737-1177), 7 Chapin Terrace, Springfield, MA 01107, (funeral home will open at 8:30 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church, 395 Chestnut Street, Springfield, MA 01104. Her burial will follow the Mass at Saint Michael Cemetery, 1601 State Street, Springfield, MA 01109. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, April 4, 2013, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Her family has requested that memorial donations be made in her memory to either the John Boyle O'Reilly Scholarship Fund, 33 Progress Avenue, Springfield, MA 01104 or to the Sacred Heart Church Renovation Fund, 395 Chestnut Street, Springfield, MA 01104.
