Patricia Spaulding Davis, 87, of North Clarendon, passed away Monday, June 9th, at The Pines in Rutland. She was born April 25th, 1927, at the Cheidle House on Old Route 7 in Clarendon, VT, to Leon Alton and Annie L. (Richardson) Spaulding. Mrs. Davis graduated from Clarendon Elementary school and Rutland Business College. Upon graduation she worked in Brandon, VT, at the Ayrshire Breeders Association; and later as a bookkeeper from 1955-1970 at the family business, Davis Shell Station.Following that she worked at FW Woolworth's for 23 years, which she enjoyed very much.On January 26, 1947, she married Bryce I. Davis in the Wallingford Congregational Church.Her greatest love was for her family; especially her six children, many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren. She loved nature, walking and hiking in the woods, gardening, which she started as a child with her grandfather and on her farm with her father. She was known for her delicious mustard pickles and beautiful floral arrangements. With her quiet nature and great smile, she was always a gracious hostess.Mrs. Davis was a lifelong member of the Old Brick Church in North Clarendon.She is survived by three daughters, Carolyn Peters of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Catherine Guarente of East Kingston, NH, and Susan Haas of Pittsford, VT; three sons, William Davis of Rutland, VT, James Davis of Parrish, Fl and John Davis of Concord, NH.; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.She was predeceased by her husband of 67 years, Bryce Davis, and a brother, Gordon Spaulding.The funeral service will be held Fri., June 13, 2014, at 2 p.m. in the Old Brick Church, with the Rev. William Kingsley, Jr., pastor, officiating.Burial will be in East Clarendon Cemetery.Following the burial there will be a reception in the church Fellowship Hall.Memorial contributions may be made to the Old Brick Church, 298 Middle Rd., N.
