Patricia Taylor Brooks was born June 9, 1951, in Schenectady, N.Y., to the union of Willie and Lessie B. Oliver Taylor. She was baptized at the age of 13 at Mount Olive Baptist Church.After graduating high school, Patricia attended Schenectady Community College, earning her Associates Degree in Accounting. Upon moving to Gadsden in 1972, she continued her education and graduated from Jacksonville State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Education. While at Jacksonville, she crossed into the sisterhood of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority.Patricia taught at Gadsden State Community College for more than 20 years before retiring due to illness.In 1982, Patricia married the late Stephan Ramsey Brooks. This union blessed them with a beautiful daughter, Lenita.Patricia continued her Christian walk with the Lord and was a member of Cherokee Christian Church, Centre, Ala.On May 13, 2014, Patricia answered her call from the Lord and transition from mortal to immortality in the twinkling of eye; to be caught up with the Lord and feel the Woe on Earth no more. She rejoices in the heavenly chorus with her parents, Willie and Lessie Oliver Taylor; brother, Willie 'Man' Taylor Jr.; and husband, Stephan Brooks.She was the loving and precious mother of Lenita Patrice Brooks, Gadsden; devoted sister of Beverly Hogg, Gadsden, Ernest Taylor, South Korea; precious aunt of Jerrick, Justice, Chuck and Letitia Taylor, Washington D.C., John, Matthew and Ginger Taylor, Gadsden; awesome god-mother of Shanga Steward and Christian Penny. A special thanks to the best nurse in the world, Denise of Alacare Hospice. You are awesome.
