Ms. Patricia Ann Mitchell Smith - SAVANNAH - Ms. Patricia Ann Mitchell Smith finally earned her angel wings on the early morning of Friday, October 5, 2007. Born in Jasper County on May 2, 1943 by the late Catherine Bryant Moffett and the late Herman Mitchell. Patricia was a 1961 graduate of A. E. Beach High School. Working for the Savannah Police Dept. as a school crossing guard for 28 years she was known as the guard that wiped tears and brought snacks at Gadsen Elementary School. Also was avid scrabble player and puzzle solver. For years she was also employed at Milton Cab Company as a radio dispatcher and also was longtime phone ministry caller for the sick and shut- in at St. James AME Church. She leaves to mourn two devoted daughters Lisa M. Edwards (Keith) and Kathi Industrious, one son Kevin D. Mitchell; sister Alama Jones (Frank) Queens, NY; 11 grand-children, nine great grands, aunts, uncles, and devoted and longtime friend Mrs. Johnnie Mae Scott. Wake: Wednesday, 6-8 at the funeral home.
