WHITE Patricia A. White, 89, passed away peacefully at her home on August 26, 2011, surrounded by her loving family. Patricia (Pat) was born January 1, 1922 in Detroit, MI to Josephine A. and Brady E. Hill. She graduated from Royal Oak High School and received her B.A. in Education from Wayne State University in 1943. Pat taught grade school for several years in Detroit Public Schools and later enjoyed being a full-time homemaker and mother. She married Edward Robert (Bob) White, Jr. in 1946 and together they resided in Berkley, Royal Oak and Bay City, MI. Patricia moved to Jacksonville, FL in 2000. She was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, and her two brothers Robert and John Hill. Patricia is survived by her two daughters, Susan Pence (Steven) of Jacksonville, FL and Nancy Palm (Phillip) of Tucson, AZ.; 6 grandchildren, Amy Petersburg of Phoenix, AZ, John Petersburg (Sarah) and Christine Petersburg of Mesa, AZ, Jason (Tracy) of Howell, MI, Mitchell Palm of Tucson, AZ and Gillian Palm of Gilbert, AZ; and three great-grandchildren, Eric Stevens, Trent Pence and Morgan Pence of Howell, MI. Patricia will be remembered for her sweet and enchanting smile that could light up a room, her love of family, her gentleness and patience and her kind and selfless ways. She enjoyed music, dancing, reading and travel, particularly throughout the western United States. She was a loving mother and a loyal friend and she will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched. A Memorial Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, September 1, 2011 at 7:00 pm in Quinn Shalz Funeral Home of Jacksonville Beach, FL with Reverend Anthony Sebra of St. Pauls Catholic Church as Celebrant. Family will receive family and friends one hour prior to service. Inurnment will be held in Roseland Park Cemetery in Berkley, MI at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to Community Hospice of NE Florida, who provided loving and compassionate care in her final days.
