PATRICIA A. BROOKS (NEE FLYNN) HAMMOND, IN Patricia A. Brooks (nee Flynn), age 69, of Hammond, IN, passed away Monday, December 8, 2008 at The University of Chicago Hospitals. She leaves to celebrate her life, her children; four daughters: Iris (William) Kelly of Griffith, IN, RaShelle Brooks and Lillian Brooks both of Hammond, IN and Delmira Brooks of Hobart, IN; two sons: Marcel Brooks of Virginia Beach, VA and Arnold Brooks of Hammond, IN; one stepson, Maurice Brooks of Hammond, IN; one daughter-in-law, Samantha Brooks of Calumet City, IL; two aunts: Jeanette Mitchell of East Chicago, IN and Annie Applewhite of Portage, IN; 12 grandchildren: Terrence, Dontrell, Antwanita, Dominique, Keith, Shequia, Shawnet, Brandy, Tracy, Deandre, Iy-Lyse and Garsca; 11 great grandchildren; sisters-in-law: Marie Brooks of East Chicago, IN, Dorothy Broaders of Gary, IN, and Mary Cobb and Bertha Brooks both of Hammond, IN; devoted friends: Minnie Coles and family; her star, Melissa Boyd; and her crown, Joyce Maclin; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 15, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church, 4911 McCook Ave., East Chicago, IN with Rev. D.B. Bennett officiating. Interment at Fern Oaks Cemetery, Griffith, IN. Visitation will be Sunday, December 14, 2008 at First Baptist Church from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Mrs. Brooks was retired from the School City of Hammond. Hinton & Williams Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
