PAUL A. "PETE" LAVALLEE JERICHO - Paul A. "Pete" Lavallee, 72, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. Pete was born in Winooski on Feb. 17, 1942, the son of the late Paul and Anita (LaCharity) Lavallee. Pete retired after 30 years at IBM at the age of 49. He then started his own landscaping business called "Pete's Lawn Care," which he enjoyed for 22 years. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, gardener, beekeeper and enjoyed spending time with family and friends at camp. He also served in the Vermont Air Guard and was a member of the American Legion Post 91 in Colchester. Pete is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Carol Lavallee; three children, daughter, Karen and husband, Robert Mahoney; daughter, Lisa Lavallee; son, Peter Lavallee and wife, Michelle; eight grand- children, Robert and Steven Mahoney, Sarah and Kristin Marek, Alyssa Gorton, Paul, Matthew and Lacey Lavallee; five sisters, Pauline Sicard, Janet Gilbert, Judy and Ed Verock, Pat and Bill Bohlen, and Cathy and Leo Khoshabjian; and many nieces and nephews. He will be missed dearly by his family and friends. The family would like to give special thanks to the Visiting Nurse Association for their special care and kindness during Pete's illness. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, March 13, 2014, at 10 a.m. in St. Anthony Catholic Church in Burlington. Interment will be at a later date at the convenience of the family. Visiting hours will be on Wednesday, March 12, 2014, from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Ready Funeral and Cremation Service, 261 Shelburne Rd., Burlington.
