JONES, ORA LEE age 72, of Montevallo peacefully entered eternal glory on Monday, May 30, 2011. She was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, and faithful servant of God. She was the First Lady of Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Witon, AL for 36 years and dedicated her life to serving the community with love. She was an alumnus of Prentice High School in Montevallo class of 1958. She received an honorary Doctorate of Humanitarian Degree from the Tennessee School of Religion. She retired from the University of Montevallo. She was the former president of the Lillie Star District Association for many years. She leaves to cherish her memories, a devoted husband, Pastor and best friend of 52 years, Rev. Dr. Albert L. Jones of Montevallo, AL; one loving daughter Deborah (Dennis) Brown six loyal sons- Albert (Dorsette) Jones, Kenneth (Letecia) Jones Rev. Timothy Jones; Mark (Charlene) Jones; Rev. Michael (Joyce) Jones and Shone (Maria) Jones. Five sisters -Irazola Sanders, and Bernice Hill, Louise Johnson, Hattie Hawkins and Dianne Wallace, two sisters in law-Carrie Jones and Alice (Arthur) Howard.. She also leaves 25 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Mrs. Ora Lee Jones was a wonderful, loving, sweet, gentle woman. She was well loved by her family and her community. And although she loved her family, her husband, her children and grandchildren, she loved and feared the Lord even more. She was a phenomenal lady, a Proverbs 31 woman, priceless, more valued than rubies. And if ever there was a virtuous woman, Mrs. Ora Lee Jones was one. Now she rest in the arms of her Lord. A homegoing Celebration for Mrs. Jones will be held Saturday, June 4th at 2:00 P.M. At Mt. Olive Baptist Missionary Baptist Church in Wilton, AL with burial at Montevallo City Cemetery.
