Olive M. Larrivee, 84 GORHAM - Olive M. Larrivee, 84, of Winslow Road, died peacefully surrounded by her family on April 20, 2006 at Maine Medical Center in Portland. Born in Gorham on March 9, 1922, she was the daughter of Alton L. and Lettie (Meserve) Brackett Sr. She was raised and educated in Gorham and was a graduate of Gorham High School. During World War II, Olive was employed as a welder on the liberty ships that were being built at the former South Portland Shipyard. She also worked for several local businesses over the years, including the former blueberry factory in Gorham, the former Daigle's Potato Farm in Gorham and Fairchild Semiconductor of South Portland. For more than 20 years, however, she was employed as a sales associate for the former Jordan Marsh of South Portland and retired from there. Olive was a dedicated and hard working women all of her life. At the conclusion of World War II, she married Theodore J. Larrivee, he predeceased her on Dec. 19, 1979. She was longtime member of the White Rock Free Baptist Church, where she played the organ and the piano. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and ceramics, and especially enjoyed spending time with her great-granddaughter, Heather. A brother, Alton L. Brackett Jr., also predeceased her on Dec. 29, 1997. Surviving are a son, Gary S. Larrivee and his wife, Susan of Gorham; a daughter, Bonnie MacGillivray and her husband, Hugh of Tracy, Calif.; six grandchildren, Patrick and wife Lisa, Andrew, Justin and fiancee, Dawn Ann, Connie and husband, Joe, Penny and husband, Cliff, and Sherry; seven great-grandchildren, Ashley, Brittany, Casey, Matthew, Heather, Makaela, and Tyler. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, April 23 from 6-8 p.m., at the Dolby Funeral Chapel, 434 River Road, Windham, where a funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Monday. Burial will follow on the family lot at Sapling Hill Cemetery, Gorham. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her memory to: The Life Flight Foundation P.O. Box 1007 Union, Maine 04862
