PELHAM. -- Olive M. "Ollie" Jordan, 78, of Pelham, died Monday, Jan. 23, at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, with her loving cousin, Joanne Sforza, by her side. She was the wife of Sgt. Carl F. Jordan, who died on June 6, 2000.She was born in London on March 1, 1927, the daughter of late Norah (Farrell) Smith and James Johnson.During World War II, Mrs. Jordan served in the British Land Army, working on farms in place of men, who fought in the war. In the Red Cow Pub, north of Oxford, England, she met Sgt. Carl F. Jordan of the U.S. Army. They were married on July 21, 1951.She is survived by a son and his wife, Jeffrey Marc Jordan and Lee Gosselin of Mobile, Ala.; a daughter and her husband, Jo Ann Jordan Elias and Atty. Thomas Elias of York, Maine; and two grandsons, Jordan Philip Elias and Berkeley Thomas Elias, both of York, Maine.
