HOOD, Ora Lee, a beloved Mother and Grandmother, age 79, a resident of Montgomery, AL, a lifelong resident of Deatsville, AL. A lifetime member of The Church of Christ, died Wednesday, December 5, 2001 in Jackson Hospital. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 7, 2001 at 10:00 a.m. from Gassett Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Michael Brock and Minister Stan Taylor officiating. Interment will be in Ebenezer Cemetery with Gassett Funeral Home directing. Mrs. Hood is preceded in death by her husband, James P. 'Jim' Hood and one daughter, Jeanette Barnes. Survivors include one daughter, JoAnn Baker of Montgomery, AL; two sons, Johnny Hood and wife Nancy of Prattville, AL, James Alton Hood and wife Mary Helen of Lightwood, AL; one brother, Walter F. Bailey and wife Imajean of Montgomery, AL; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Active pallbearers will be Ken Gardner, Chad Hood, Bobby Holt, Kyle Barnes, David Hilliard and Brandon Maddox. Honorary Pallbearers will be John Barnes, John Bailey, Houston Gibbons, Jacob Gibbons and Brett Green.
