ALLENDALE, S.C.- Mrs. Norma Lee Smith, the wife of the late Ed D. Smith Jr., died Monday morning at University Hospital after a brief illness. She was 77. Mrs. Smith was born September 12, 1926, the daughter of the late Norman Williams and Louise Locke Williams. She was retired postmaster at Fairfax Post Office and a member of the Bellinger Chapel United Methodist Church of Fairfax where she was an active member. Surviving are one son; David Smith and his wife Karen of Hampton; one daughter, Suzanne Bodiford and her husband Jerry of Barnwell; three sisters, Margaret Reece and Joyce Brewer both of Allendale; Helen Knopf of Jacksonville, Fla.; there are three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 3 p.m. at Bellinger Chapel United Methodist Church of Fairfax with burial following at Fairfax Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Bellinger Chapel United Methodist Church of Fairfax. Smith-R hoden Funeral Home of Allendale is in charge of arrangements.
