Norma Jean Smith, age 44, of Gainesville, passed away on Thursday, June 21, 2012, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a sudden illness.Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, June 23, 2012, at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. David Lewis will officiate. The family will receive friends on Friday, June 22, 2012, from 6–9 p.m. at the funeral home.Ms. Smith was born Feb. 4, 1968, in Gainesville, Ga., to the late J. Harold Nix and Eulene Harris Carter. She was a homemaker and of the Holiness faith. Norma was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Curtis D.
