Montgomery - Norma Jean Sizemore Harris, 68, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, April 23, 2012, in the presence of her loving family. She was born on September 8, 1943 in Talladega County, Alabama, the eldest of four children of James Lee and Lela Mae (Redding) Sizemore. Norma was a graduate of Oxford High School in Oxford, Ala. where she was a majorette in the band and fell in love with her future husband, Kenneth Tulane Harris. Norma and Ken married on June 9, 1961. After Ken completed dental school and a tour of duty in the United States Air Force, they moved to Montgomery in 1969 to begin his dental practice and raise their three daughters. Norma and Ken worked in perfect harmony along side one another in his practice and were married for 37 years until his death in 1998. She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Montgomery where she played in the ladies hand bell choir for many years, sang in the Sanctuary Choir and served as a volunteer in the church Caring Center. Norma lived a life of service to others, especially her family and those she held dear. She loved being surrounded by family and friends and her home was always a welcoming place to anyone. Having been preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband and a sister-in-law, Carol Danner Sizemore, she is survived by her brothers, Jim Sizemore (Sherry), of Montgomery, Tom Sizemore, of Houston, Texas and a sister, Jodie Sizemore Wynne (Robert), of Pulaski, Tenn. Also surviving are her three daughters, Elizabeth Harris Ammons (Joseph), of Pike Road, Ala., Shelley Harris Babington (William), of Montgomery, and Mandy Harris Nall (Edward), of Lowndesboro; six grandchildren, Abigail Anne Ammons, of Pike Road, Ala., Murray McConnell Babington and Marilee Macaulay Babington, of Montgomery, Kenneth Grant Nall of Tuscaloosa, and Edward Garrett Nall and Ellis Grayson Nall, both of Lowndesboro; and many more nieces, nephews and cousins. On Friday, April 27, 2012, a time of visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., in the parlor of First Baptist Church of Montgomery, followed immediately by a memorial service conducted by Dr. Jay Wolf in the Stakely Sanctuary. Norma requested that those wishing to remember her in a special way may make memorial gifts to Living Water International, 4001 Greenbriar Dr., Suite 200, Stafford, TX 77477 or online at www.water.cc. Memorial contributions may also be made to either the Sanctuary Choir or Community Ministry of First Baptist Church of Montgomery, 305 South Perry St., Montgomery, AL 36104. Norma's family wishes to acknowledge the loving care of her physician, Dr. James Mracek and the many special caregivers who became part of our family and helped care for her lovingly over the last 19 years. Heartfelt thanks is also due to the nurses of the Southeast Hospice Network who provided special counseling and care during her final days on earth.
