Norma Jean Nelson, 82, Inverness, died Jan 2, 2010, at her residence under the loving care of her family and Hospice. A native of Royal Oak, MI, she was born July 6, 1927, to the late Benjamin and Virginia Lee Barton. She moved here in 1973 from Pinellas County. She was a member of the VFW and Inverness Moose Lodge Auxillary. Survivors include her husband, John E. Nelson; 4 sons, David Albert Van Allen, Inverness, Forest "Bruce" Van Allen and wife Linda, Inverness, Gregory Dean Van Allen and wife Freida, Banner Elk, NC, Kevin Frederick Van Allen and Billie of Bushnell; 3 brothers, Benjamin "Fred" Barton, Kenneth Duane Barton, and Gary Lee Barton; 1 sister, Carolyn Kay Bishop; and 7 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 2 husbands, Forest Van Allen and Joseph Marchitto. Funeral services will be conducted today, Monday, Jan. 4, at 3:00 PM from the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Rev. Greg Kell of Cornerstone Baptist Church officiating. Burial at a later date in Oak Ridge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials requested to Hospice of Citrus Co., P.O.
