CURRY, Lenorah Grace November 3, 1919 - July 18, 2013Sadly, we announce the peaceful passing of our mum, Nora Curry at 93 years of age. Mum was born in London, England to a wonderful boisterous family. Her father was in the R.C.A.F. and they travelled. She loved to tell stories of the long ship passage to India where they were stationed for about six years. Mum was quite talented, singing and dancing with the Farnborough & R.A.E. Operatic Society and entertaining troops during WW2. She met and married Dad and after the war travelled to Canada as a War Bride with little Ken Jr. They arrived on the Mauritania and then by train to Edmonton. Sue and Heather were born in Edmonton and mum was a typical housewife of that post-war era. She loved pets, and we had a houseful of them. She worked part-time behind the candy counter at the old Varscona Theatre for many years. She, Dad and Heather then spent about 35 years in Ottawa where they both enjoyed skiing, gardening, and boating. They retired in Edmonton in 1999.Nora is predeceased by her daughter Heather and great-grandson Tyler Cotter. She will be lovingly remembered by husband Ken Curry, son Ken Curry Jr. (Ginger), daughter Sue Turko (Bob) , grandchildren Ashley, Raegen, Kelly, Kaylynn and Shannon and five great-grandchildren. The family wishes to express thanks for the kind and gentle care given Mum by the 2nd floor staff of the Good Samaritan Southgate Centre. As per Nora's wishes, there will be no formal Service, but rather the family and any and all interested friends will gather at a later date to toast mum's memory with "blue martini's", and share stories and memories.Expressions of sympathy can be forwarded to the family via the websitewww.hainstockedmonton.com
