Nettie Mae Jones, 63, of 135 Apple Blossom Lane, died Oct. 23, 2002. Born in Pickens, she was a daughter of the late James A. (Doc) and Beatrice Crowe Jones. She, along with her husband, were the owners and operators of J&J Sandwich Co. for 31 years. She attended Faith Baptist Church. Surviving are her husband, Robert (Bobby) Lee Jones, of the home; loving mother-in-law, Mirtie Jones; a brother, James Ray Jones, and his wife, Lettie, of Weslaco, Texas; four sisters, Shirley Jones Hart, and her husband, J.B. Jr., of Greensboro, N.C., Anita Jones McCall, and her husband, Marion, of Greenville, Elaine Jones Cunningham, and her husband, Hugh, of Marietta, and Diane Jones McCurley, and her husband, Dennis, of Cincinnati, Ohio; 12 nieces and nephews; 22 great-nieces and nephews; four aunts; and a former sister-in-law, Kay Jones. She was predeceased by two brothers-in-law, James C. Jones and Wilton D. Jones. In addition to her family and friends, she provided unconditional love and comfort to lost and stray cats, who found their way to her home and heart. Funeral services will be held at noon Saturday, at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown, with visitation, prior to the service, from 11 to 11:45 a.m. Burial will be at Woodlawn Memorial Park. The family is at the home of Anita McCall, 109 Merrilat Ave., Greenville.
