Nelson Larry Smith, 56, of 135 Manchester Ave., died Monday, March 12, 2001. Born in Charlotte, N.C., he wasthe husband of Linda Drake Smith and son of Iris Gibby Smith and the late Edward Nelson Smith. He was a U.S. Army Reserve member, a service technician with Piedmont Natural Gas, a member of West Gantt First Baptist Church and Dunean Lodge A.F.M. Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, Jeffrey Smith of Piedmont; daughters, Sherry Jenkins of N. Charleston, and Lindsey Smith of the home; a sister, Shirley Smith of Greenville; and two grandchildren, Kierston and Drake. Service: 2 p.m. today at the funeral home, with burial at Graceland Cemetery, West. The family is at the residence.
